Bubble Tube Lab

In this lab, students will learn to:

  1. Apply the definition of position.
  2. Make qualitative observations about the motion of a bubble in the bubble tube and share observations with other groups in class.
  3. Discuss and evaluate alternate ideas for possible experiments.
  4. Design an experiment to study the motion of the bubble as it travels up the tube.
  5. Gather data of the motion of the bubble.
  6. Draw a position vs. time graph from the data.
  7. Calculate the speed from the slope of that graph.
  8. Describe the attributes of uniform motion from an analysis of their data.
  9. Associate speed with the slope of a position vs time graph.
